How it works.

00 Libraries

Welcome to your studio. Every reel you've made lives here, sorted into folders, and your running spend sits in the bottom corner so there are never any surprises. Let's start with Actors. OneTake gives you a growing cast of actors to choose from, and using any of them is free. Filter by age, nationality, build, style or glasses to narrow the crowd, then click a face to watch them move and speak before you decide. Tip: pick someone who suits your audience, not just someone you like. The same face holds from your first clip to your last.

01 Story Format

Everything you make in OneTake starts as a reel inside a folder. Folders are simply for keeping things tidy: one per client, campaign or theme works well. Click the plus next to Folders, give it a name, then choose New reel and name that too. Creating folders and reels is free, so set up as many as you like.

02 Choose Your Cast

Step two is your cast, and like the format it's free. The Story Format you chose decides how many people you need: a talking head needs one, so you'll see a single seat marked Speaker waiting to be filled. Scroll the grid to browse the actors, or hover over anyone to see them move.

03 Locations

Step three is where your reel happens, and like the steps before it, it's free. You pick a location by picture rather than by name. Think of the picture as a guide to the kind of place, not the exact set: each one brings its own look and room tone, so every shot in your reel matches. Filter by kind of place, indoors or out, or places you've used before, then click one and it fills the seat marked Where it happens, ringed in red.

04 Assets

Step four is Assets: the props your reel puts in shot, chosen once for the whole reel, and it's free. Anything you created in your Libraries appears here ready to pick, including your branded props, marked yours at the top of the grid. There are two choices on the right. What your speaker is wearing: their own clothes from their intro video, or something else from the assets library to replace them. And what's in shot. A reel is allowed to carry nothing at all, but you have to say so.

05 Script

Step five is the Script: what is said, line by line. The Story Format you chose has already laid out the beats this kind of reel needs, a Hook, the Problem, the Turn, the Proof and the Ask, each with a note on what it's for. You fill them in yourself for nothing, or have OneTake write them for you. Either way, everything you do here is saved as you go, so closing the window never undoes your work.

06 Storyboard

Step six is the Storyboard, and this is where your reel is actually made. Here's the idea that sets OneTake apart: your reel isn't one big video. It's built as short clips, one for each beat of your script, and every clip is built, watched and signed off on its own. If one comes back wrong, you fix that one clip. You never throw the whole reel away and start again. This is the step where real money is spent, so every button shows its price before you press it.

07 Captions

Step seven is Captions. Your reel is built; now it gets its words on screen, plus an opening and closing card laid over it. Everything on this step is free, and you can change it as often as you like. The preview on the right is your finished reel, so what you see here is what you'll download. The first slider, Reel energy, adds a touch of life to the finished picture; a little goes a long way.

08 Download

Step eight is Download, and this is where OneTake finishes the job. Your approved clips are joined, the captions and banners are burnt into the picture, and the whole thing is written out as one file. It takes about a minute, and it's free. You'll see a spinner in the shape of your reel and a fresh tip along the foot while you wait.

Our story.

It started with a side project.

I'm Glyn, the founder of OneTake. Like most people running a side hustle or building digital products, I wanted to advertise on social media without showing my face. So I went looking for a way to make faceless videos.

I found plenty of tools, and I tried pretty much all of them.

The tokens ran out before the ideas did.

I paid my monthly subscription for tokens, with no real idea what they bought me, and started creating. You burn through them fast trying to get the video you had in your head. There was always something not quite right, or a mis-spoken word, and no way to fix just the error. You rebuilt the whole video.

My twenty-five dollars a month bought about two usable videos. I wanted to post three times a week.

Then I tried building my own.

So I went back to researching, this time on YouTube, where an endless array of creators show you how to build your own by chaining AI tools together. I followed along. It became clear very quickly that the videos they were showing were not first attempts.

Same problems: a wrong word, a background that changed between shots, no story format. One reel took more time and cost me fifty-two dollars. I was ready to give up.

What if you only fixed the broken piece?

Every time there was an error, I had to start again. A thirty-second reel is a long time in AI video for something to go wrong. So I thought about breaking the whole process down into the individual elements of a reel, and paying to fix only the one that was wrong.

Three months and a lot of late nights later, OneTake was born.

Nothing to pay until you build.

Actors, locations and assets are built in and free to use. Choose a story format, your cast, your location and what's in shot, then write the script yourself for nothing, or have one written for 10 cents and tweak it until it's yours.

Then click go. OneTake builds only the first four seconds. Approve the look, or rebuild that one clip. The rest follow the same way, clip by clip, so a six-clip reel lands at about $3.00, and a change costs you one clip, never the whole reel.

Your perfect video, and the cost of every step.

Once every clip is approved, OneTake trims the gaps, adds captions, opening and closing banners and a cover image, and hands you the reel to download. Cost transparency from start to finish, with nothing rebuilt that didn't need to be.

That is what makes OneTake different. I'd love you to give it a go.

Pay as you go.

  1. 01What does it cost to start?

Nothing. Write your script at the top of this page, sign in with your email, and your first take, up to 10 seconds, is free. No card.

  2. 02What do I pay after that?

Only what you build. Top up from $10; your credit never expires. A take is $0.50 for every five seconds, so a 30-second reel is $3.00. Your first script on a reel is included and a rewrite is $0.10. Every button shows its price before you press it.

  3. 03What if a clip comes out wrong?

Fix that one clip, its words or its look, for $0.40. Never the whole reel.

  4. 04What about HD, captions and the download?

Included. Once you have credit, your reel finishes in HD, 1080 by 1920, with captions, and you can add hook text and an end card, all at no extra cost. The free first take is 480p with a small OneTake mark.

  5. 05Is there a monthly plan?

If you make reels every month, Studio is $19 a month, all of it credit. Cancel in one click, and unused credit from a charge can be refunded to your card if you ask within 30 days of it.
